History
Welcome to Wild African Ventures, where all your African Safari travel plans are taken care of with style, sensibility, and comfort of mind. Celebrating 34 years as your one-stop shop for African safari dreams!
Deborah incorporated Wild African Ventures in 1990 after gaining years of travel experience as an incoming tour operator into South Africa in the mid 70’s. After emigrating to North America, she gained onsite hotel experience with Westin Hotels Canada, before being offered a position with Southern Suns in New York. Then for 5 years before starting Wild African Ventures, her main focus was Gametrackers Botswana.
So with well-rounded experience, and tons of creative energy for designing incredible safaris, she decided to start her own business. Besides South Africa, she plans trips to Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Egypt, Morocco and the Indian Ocean islands of Mauritius, Seychelles, Maldives, Comores and Madagascar.
She’s a legend in her own right in the African tourism industry, very well-respected, and thrives on the positive feedback she gets from every single booking she handles. When not creating exciting safaris for her clients, she is a passionate gardener who has enjoyed designing and maintaining her 3 acre garden in Los Angeles for the last 25 years!
